Well. Day two of my daily photoblog. I had a few shots in mind today, the first two of which failed miserably, and turned out absolutely pants.
Then as I was in the kitchen, I hit upon this idea. A uniform row of cherry tomatoes that I had sitting in the fridge….narrow DOF, and just one of them fallen over. After a few shots, and some attempts to bounce some flash and use a reflector to accentuate the shadows, I ended up with the above photo.
I must admit this photoblog is giving me ‘fresh’ eyes. I’m trying to think of everything I see as a photo, trying to find a ‘shot’ in ordinary things (Mostly because I don’t want to run dry of ideas).
So at the moment, it’s having the desired effect. I intended to push myself as a photographer, and already I’m beginning to think differently.
Earlier this evening I realised how much of a different viewpoint my son has (he’s 2 1/2), he looks up to things like door handles and cooker controls. This was a realisation that had me crawling round my home on my back, looking for a different viewpoint to everyday objects.
Another day I’m quite pleased with my efforts. Again, the tripod came out, as did the remote release, along with the ‘Mirror Lockup’ function. I even used manual focus today too.
As always, thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow!
