My daughter has just come home from a friend’s birthday ‘pamper’ party where they all had their hair, nails and makeup done.
I took the opportunity to rattle off a few frames before she has to return to normality for high school tomorrow.
I’m not a big fan of heavily photoshopped portraits with super smooth unblemished, tango coloured skin, on a size zero female.
I’ve literally made some contrast changes and lifted the eyes ever so gently, and removed one or two spots that are appearing. Hover over the shot for the original.
Not much thought went into the shot except for location (living room), choice of lens (70-200 F4L), lighting (bounced flash) FEC (+ 2/3 IIRC), and a little editing.

I went to the beach with my wife and children last month. I took my camera with the deliberate intention of taking some shots of the children for post-processing. Here’s my 10 year old daughter at the beach.
Again, it’s very much a Chromasia-influenced shot, and the same with the processing. For that I make no apologies. I do not intend to copy, but merely imitate and emulate so I can learn more tricks and skills to find my own path on this photographic journey

It was my son’s 5th birthday earlier this week, and naturally the camera came out. I caught him trying to blow two balloons up at the same time (unsuccessfully I might add).
I’ve also been trying new processing styles, using the tutorials from Chromasia.
