Taken during a trip to Whitby and Saltburn last August, with Jimmy Lemon. This was taken just as the sun was setting through Saltburn Pier, casting a beautiful orange glow everywhere.

Taken a couple of years ago on a TP Meet in North Wales. This is another shot I never got round to blogging at the time. Not 100% sure on the processing, but hey ho….it’s not getting any more tweaking.

As always, hover over the shot for a view of the original.

Taken from a trip a couple of months ago with Jimmy Lemon. We waited all night for a decent sunrise, and when it came it was a bit of a damp squib. Still, this wasn’t too bad to come out of it.

As usual, hover over the photo for the original unprocessed version.

Went to Gibson Mill last week (as per my previous blog post), with JimmyLemon. This was taken further down the path to the previous shot. I did attempt a much more saturated version of this, but it really looked incredibly busy (too much so). Nor did complete mono / black & white work either.

As always, rollover for the original as shot.

This is a shot I took back in 2009 in Lytham St.Annes. It was inspired by David Nightingale (of Chromasia fame)’s rather inspirational beachcombing photos.
I never got round to processing it at the time, despite being a longtime subscriber of his online tutorials.

However, while watching David present his free CreativeLIVE weekend (Day two today), my creative and photographic nerves have been well and truly prodded.
So while he discusses various viewer-submitted photos, I decided to revisit a shot to turn my hand to a couple of things I have learned today.

If you are a fan of Chromasia’s work, then tune in to CreativeLIVE and watch. It’s incredibly fascinating to watch someone in his comfort zone…..someone who I have photographically followed and admired for a number of years.

For those that are interested, here is the layer composition. All of theml curves layers except the Hue/Saturation layer.

I went up to the Lake District yesterday with some friends.
Some cracking views, landscapes and scenery all around. Weather was in our favour too, and we ended the day at Rigg Wood pier in Coniston.
A really enjoyable day and I learned quite alot photographically too.

PS. I must give full credit for the idea of the image to Jonathan Woods, he suggested it and tried it first!

Today was the annual TalkPhotography North West meet. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I couldn’t make it. I was still in the mood to take some photographs so popped to Pennington Flash (a local nature reserve) with another fellow photographer, Gaz Eddleston, to wait for the sun set. We spotted some rather interesting debris by the waters edge.
