I’m actually writing this post on Sunday the 7th. Yesterday was my 30th birthday. I had planned to get a birthday related photo, and post it before the evenings events (some friends round, some wine, and a chinese takeaway), but unfortunately tiredness and time got the better of me.
As the evening wore on, the two glasses of wine I consumed, meant that at 11:30pm I wasn’t in a very photographic state.
I very rarely drink, which means that it takes only a ‘sniff of the barmaids apron’ and I’m inebriated.

All night I was being eaten by guilt, at being a day behind on the photoblog, and not taking a photo yesterday, that I promised to take two today, and I had a very good reason why I had slipped behind.

That was, until, someone on the forums mentioned that surely the photo I took of my birthday cake (to show fellow forum goers) could count as a photo for the day.
So there we have it, that’s my photo for the 6th of January, and my explanation of why I am manually putting the date on this post as the 6th (nothing to do with my obsessive compulsiveness of having chronological numbers in the archives, of one photo each day….oh no siree).

Anyway, onto the photo

As said, I was 30 yesterday. 6th January 1977, I popped into this world, and thanks to my dad liking the pop group at the time “The Marcels” (Who sang the infamous “Blue Moon”), I was given a moniker to live by.

30 years later, and I was woken up by my two children bringing me my cards, pressies and breakfast in bed (Quite a nice display of buttered toast, fruit n fibre, cup of coffee and some of my daugters leftover pink smarties).
After opening my cards and only present for the day (Some aftershave balm, as my other two presents, my tripod and battery grip for my camera, I’d had a week early), I jumped in the shower.

While I was in there, my wife and children decorated the living room with some banners and ‘Happy 30th’ balloons, and got the cake out of hiding (that the cake maker had dropped off the day before, unbeknownst to me).
So out of the shower I get and was greeted with lit candles, and a chorus of “Happy Birthday”, which was lovely.
After making a wish (Can’t tell you what, or it won’t come true), I blew out the candles, and proceeded to take this pic before my son started picking at the letters. He started with a Y but soon demolished a couple of P’s and a T before I got to the cake with the knife.

A nice day was then spent relaxing, and rounded off with a couple of glasses of wine with friends, and a lovely chinese takeaway.

So there you go, that’s my photo for today (or yesterday, however you’re reading this). Have I cheated? Sort of? Have I still taken a photo a day? Of course 😀

Until tomorrow (or today….)

[7,6,20,18

post-28","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-events","category-family","category-food","category-indoor
["GET
