I initially tried a few different combinations of fruit (including bananas, but they were too big to include, and really ruined the composition).

As you can tell by the title, my thought behind the shot is to emulate some sort of fruit machine. Aswell as differing combinations, I tried various layouts too, in both portrait and landscape, and also varying the gaps between the items. None of them really looked ‘right’ until I hit upon the idea of having both the top and bottom row ‘hang out’ of the frame, almost looking like a fruit machine display, but also looking like a continuing roll. To break the composition and take it a step further I swapped a couple of the peppers round.
Before trying this fruit machine idea, I took many photos around my flat. Some of my wife watching ‘Soapstar Superstar’, some of her reflection in the mirror, some of the mirror itself, and also other various things around the rooms. None of them really worked that well.

As of today (and if I remember), then I’m going to include how many clicks of the shutter it’s taken to get ‘todays’ photo. (This includes misfires and out of focus shots).

Today, it’s been 62 shots.

I’m also going to include EXIF details for the daily photos too:

Canon EOS 30D | Flash Used: No | Focal Length : 31.0mm | Exposure Time: 8.000 s | Aperture: f/9.0 | ISO equiv: 100

[3,20,18,11

post-31","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-abstract","category-food","category-indoor","category-nature
["GET
