….and his girlfriend. I spotted these sat on a bench on the seafront at Cromer. I noticed straight away this guys hat, and decided all three of them would make a nice shot, so I turned round, lifted my camera, backed up a bit and said “You dont mind do you?”, to which he said “Not at all”.

This was out of the ordinary for me as I’m way too shy normally to take people shots, let alone ask them, yet this was the second time in the same day!.
In my flustering panic, I didn’t really think about my settings (my bad, completely), and left the camera on f13, which resulted in a slow shutter speed.
I realised, and rattled off another frame before saying my thanks and walking away. I didn’t want to ‘outstay my welcome’ so to speak, so only walked away with the two shots.

I am kicking myself now, as the second shot, I cut the dogs feet off…grrr….so shutter speed aside, this was inherently the better shot. OK, I wont stand up to the scrutiny of an enlargment but it will certainly do for the photoblog 🙂

Well done. I wouldn’t have had the guts to ask. This is a great shot, and the technical problems you mention don’t seem apparent to me – at this size anyway.

Thanks very much Jamie. I don’t know where I got the courage from to ask. Maybe it’s because I was with my family, or because I was on holiday, I’m not sure. I’m glad I asked though….another 150 times and I think I’ll start getting a bit more confidence 😀
