I had originally planned to go into this ‘outside’ place today to get todays shot, but alas it was not to be. An overwhelming tiredness and children put paid to that idea (OK, I won’t blame the kids…I was simply too tired to, and by the time I mustered up the energy, the sun had gone to bed).

So I took the above shot. It actually hit upon me this afternoon. While my 7 yr old daughter was using my PC to email her friend in spain, and my son was having his afternoon nap (Like father, like son), I took the time to catch up on my photography magazine stash with a cup of coffee.
Well, upon reading the December issue of Digital Photo magazine, they had a big article on black and white, and when I read it, I immediately thought of this shot.

Not much to say about it really. I tried a number of crops, orientations and angles, and none of them felt quite right. On the offchance, I thought “I’ll try a square crop” and I immediately thought it looked better.
What grabbed me about the shot before I even took it was the amount of angles, lines, and straight edges, all leading into each other.

Well, who knows….does it work? Answers on a postcard please.

Tomorrow is Friday, we may have a sunset challenge on the forums tomorrow. Although that may be postponed. I may try for a proper outdoor venture tomorrow, providing the weather holds up and the gods play nice.
Until tomorrow!

Lines, lines, lots of lines….

So this is what you get up to in the wee smalls Marcel … lol

This is a good shot m8 … and made for mone imo … bit of a shame about the light but then again without it some of the interest would disappear … so overall another great choice !

I like the composition and your post processing really suitsthe subject. I’d agree its a bit of a shame about the light but on the other hand from that we get detail in so much more of the ‘room’ so I won’t complain too much! :o) Looking forward to seeing if you manage to venture out today!
